Dosing and Administration

The Plan B® One-Step dosing regimen is easy to follow, consisting of only 1 tablet. The tablet should be taken as soon as possible within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure.

Since timing is so critical to efficacy, it’s important to let your patients know that Plan B® One-Step is most effective within the first 24 hours of unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure. You should therefore encourage them to go to their nearest pharmacy as soon as possible.

Patients should be advised to contact you if they vomit within two hours of taking a Plan B® One-Step tablet, as consideration should be given to repeating the dose. As with all medications, remind your patients to call you if any other adverse reaction occurs.

Who should not take Plan B One-Step?

Plan B® One-Step is contraindicated for use in women with the following conditions:
  • Known or suspected pregnancy
  • Hypersensitivity to any component of the product
Take the first tablet as soon as possible. Take the second tablet 12 hours later.
